Qualifications & Experience:
Certification as a Sterile Processing Technician required Demonstrated proficiency with decontamination, sterilization, and preparation of surgical instruments and equipment Thorough knowledge of infection control protocols and hospital safety standards Strong organizational skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Nursing knowledge is a plus, especially as it relates to sterile technique and patient safety Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Responsibilities:
Clean, decontaminate, assemble, sterilize, and distribute surgical instruments and medical equipment Operate autoclaves and other sterilization equipment in accordance with manufacturer and facility guidelines Inspect instruments for functionality and cleanliness, ensuring readiness for surgical procedures Maintain accurate records of sterilization processes and inventory levels of supplies Adhere strictly to departmental and facility policies for infection control, safety, and regulatory compliance Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to anticipate and meet clinical needs in a timely manner This role presents an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patient outcomes by supporting infection prevention efforts and ensuring essential tools are available for life-saving procedures.
