Job Description

Category Nursing - Sterile Processing Tech Job Type Contract As a critical member of the healthcare support team, you will play a vital role in ensuring patient safety and high-quality care by expertly managing sterile processing responsibilities. Your expertise will directly contribute to a safe surgical environment and optimal patient outcomes.
Qualifications and Experience:
Current certification as a Sterile Processing Technician (CRCST or equivalent) Previous experience working as a Sterile Processing Technician in a healthcare setting In-depth knowledge of sterilization techniques, infection control, and decontamination procedures Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain precise documentation Excellent teamwork and communication skills Ability to lift, push, or pull equipment and work on your feet for extended periods
Responsibilities:
Properly clean, decontaminate, package, and sterilize surgical instruments and medical equipment Operate and monitor sterilization equipment according to protocols and regulatory standards Perform quality assurance checks to ensure all instruments meet facility safety and cleanliness standards Assemble and organize instrument trays for surgical and procedural use Maintain accurate records of sterilization cycles, equipment maintenance, and inventory Adhere to strict protocols for infection control and patient safety throughout all workflows Collaborate closely with surgical and nursing staff to support department needs
