Full Time (30 Hours or More) Job Requirements and Properties Work Onsite Full Time Schedule Full Time Job Description . Overview Decontaminate, clean, process, and sterilize supplies and equipment dispensed by the department, following infection control practices and guidelines. Responsibilities- Follows manufacturer instructions for use for steam and low temperature sterilization
- Follows manufacturer instructions for use for decontamination, disinfection of instruments, and flexible endoscopes according to department standards and industry guidelines
- Demonstrates knowledge of surgical instrument kits
- Demonstrates knowledge of how to properly inspect and assemble kits
- Adheres to hospital policies for CSR as well as follow AAMI guidelines (Association for the Advancement of Medical Instruments
- Performs equipment testing: Bowies and Biologicals, and reports any abnormal results to the supervisor
- Delivery of sterile instruments and kits in a timely manner, within 48 hours, to other departments within the hospital
- Maintains a clean work environment in accordance to regulator guidelines and hospital policy. Damp dusting horizontal surfaces, end of day cleaning, removal of trash and laundry
- Attends staff meetings and in services
- Stays up to date on departmental communication and required annual and periodical competencies
- Participates in orientation of new staff as needed
- Completes other daily tasks as requested and assigned
- Performs job specific requirements and other duties as assigned
- Answer the phone and take messages when needed
- Help with different reps that come in with trays or help with them taking trays out
- Help the OR when they are looking for a kit or instrument Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED Required Licensure/Certifications
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS
- Central Sterile certification required within 2 years of hire. To be obtained through CBSPD.
