Full Job Description Position Summary:
Advanced Surgical Center, a growing 3-room ambulatory surgery center in Las Vegas, is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Sterile Processing Technician (SPD) on a PRN basis. This role is responsible for the decontamination, inspection, assembly, sterilization, and distribution of surgical instruments and equipment, ensuring the highest standards of infection prevention and patient safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform decontamination, cleaning, and sterilization of surgical instruments and equipment in accordance with established protocols Inspect, assemble, and package instrument sets accurately and efficiently Operate sterilization equipment (autoclaves, ultrasonic cleaners, etc.) and monitor cycles for compliance Maintain accurate documentation of sterilization processes and biological monitoring Ensure proper storage and inventory of sterile supplies and instruments Support operating room turnover by ensuring instrument availability and readiness Adhere to infection control, OSHA, and facility policies and procedures Identify and report equipment malfunctions or process concerns promptly
Qualifications:
Minimum of 1-2 years of sterile processing experience, preferably in an ambulatory surgery center or hospital setting Current Sterile Processing certification preferred (CRCST or CBSPD) Knowledge of surgical instrumentation, sterilization techniques, and infection control standards Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Additional Information:
PRN role with flexible scheduling based on case volume and staffing needs Monday-Friday schedule supporting a 3-room surgical center (no nights, weekends, or major holidays) Opportunity to be part of a high-quality, team-oriented surgical environment
