Surgical Services / Central Sterile Processing We are seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) for a 13-week travel contract in Columbus, Ohio . This is an excellent opportunity for skilled sterile processing professionals with strong experience in acute care hospitals, surgical services, decontamination, sterilization, and OR support . The ideal candidate will have experience in a teaching hospital , Trauma Level II environment , and high-volume surgical services departments . Candidates must be comfortable working in fast-paced operating room settings and supporting perioperative teams. Key Responsibilities Decontaminate, inspect, assemble, sterilize, and distribute surgical instruments and medical equipment Perform steam sterilization , Sterrad sterilization , and high-level disinfection (HLD) Reprocess flexible scopes and endoscopic equipment according to hospital policy Assemble instrument trays, peel packs, and surgical case carts accurately Support Operating Room (OR) teams by ensuring timely instrument availability Maintain sterile storage and infection prevention standards Operate and document workflows using Censitrac tracking system Utilize Medivator equipment and follow manufacturer guidelines Adhere to AAMI, Joint Commission, and infection control protocols Ensure proper handling of surgical instrumentation in a high-volume hospital setting Required Qualifications Minimum 3 years of Sterile Processing Technician experience Previous travel assignment experience required Experience in an acute care hospital required Teaching hospital experience required Trauma Level II experience required Strong experience supporting Operating Room and Surgical Services departments Experience with instrument sterilization, decontamination, and scope reprocessing Ability to work independently in fast-paced surgical environments Required Certifications One of the following certifications is required: CBSPD Certification CRCST Certification HSPA Certification Preferred Skills Surgical instrumentation knowledge Sterrad sterilization systems Flexible scope reprocessing High-Level Disinfection (HLD) Censitrac instrument tracking Medivator systems Central Sterile Processing workflows OR case cart assembly Infection prevention and aseptic technique Why Join This Opportunity?
