BI01 Job Overview We are seeking experienced Sterile Processing Technicians (SPTs) for a 13-week contract opportunity with a nationally recognized academic medical center in Columbus, Ohio . The ideal candidate will have strong hospital or surgical environment experience and expertise in sterile processing, surgical instrument reprocessing, decontamination, sterilization, instrument assembly, inspection, and Operating Room support . Key Responsibilities Decontaminate, clean, disinfect, inspect, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments. Prepare surgical instrument trays, case carts, and supplies for Operating Room procedures. Perform steam and STERRAD sterilization . Inspect surgical instruments for cleanliness, functionality, and proper condition. Assemble instrument sets accurately according to established standards. Perform flexible endoscope and medical device reprocessing. Maintain accurate sterilization tracking and documentation. Follow infection prevention, aseptic technique, and sterile processing standards. Maintain inventory and sterile supply levels. Communicate effectively with OR staff, nurses, surgical teams, and other departments. Identify damaged, missing, or malfunctioning instruments and report appropriately. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe sterile processing environment. Support quality assurance initiatives and regulatory compliance. Requirements Minimum 3+ years of Sterile Processing Technician experience . Previous hospital or surgical environment experience preferred. High school diploma or GED. Strong knowledge of surgical instrument identification and reprocessing. Knowledge of sterilization, decontamination, disinfection, and infection prevention procedures. Experience with instrument assembly and inspection. Strong attention to detail. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Required Certification Candidates must hold one of the following certifications: CRCST
