We are currently seeking a reliable, skilled, and patient-focused Oral Surgery Dental Assistant to join our team. This role is ideal for a motivated professional who thrives in a fast-paced surgical environment and is passionate about supporting exceptional patient care. As an Oral Surgery Dental Assistant, you will play an essential role in supporting the doctor and clinical team during surgical procedures while ensuring patient comfort, maintaining sterile environments, and supporting efficient clinical operations throughout the practice. Part-Time Tuesday - Thursday 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM Key Responsibilities Assist the doctor during oral surgery procedures including extractions, implant placements, bone grafting, and related treatments Prepare and maintain treatment rooms, instruments, and surgical trays for procedures Clean, sterilize, prepare, and organize dental and surgical instruments in accordance with OSHA, FDA, and infection control protocols Maintain sterile processing areas and assist with maintaining a safe and sterile clinical environment Take digital X-rays and CBCT scans while adhering to safety standards Educate patients on pre-operative and post-operative instructions and care Maintain accurate patient records and clinical notes using dental software systems Support efficient patient flow by ensuring treatment rooms and instruments are prepared and stocked Follow all safety procedures related to instruments, equipment, and hazardous waste handling Represent the practice in a professional, pleasant, and cooperative manner at all times Assist with additional duties and responsibilities as assigned Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Key Responsibilities Clean, sterilize, prepare, and organize dental and surgical instruments in accordance with OSHA, FDA, and infection control protocols Maintain sterile processing areas and assist with maintaining a safe and sterile clinical environment Inspect instruments and equipment for proper function and determine when repair or replacement is needed Maintain inventory and supplies of sterilization materials and instruments Assist Dental Assistants and Dentists by preparing trays, operatory setups, and providing instruments as needed during procedures Follow all safety procedures related to instruments, equipment, and hazardous waste handling Support efficient patient flow by ensuring treatment rooms and instruments are prepared and stocked Perform routine maintenance and care of sterilization equipment Maintain accurate organization and storage of instruments and supplies Occasionally assist with administrative or office support duties as needed Represent the practice in a professional, pleasant, and cooperative manner at all times Assist with additional duties and responsibilities as assigned Skills, Knowledge and Expertise High School Diploma or G.E.D. required Previous dental or medical office experience preferred (minimum two years preferred) Current CPR certification required or willingness to obtain Strong understanding of sterilization procedures, infection control, and workplace safety standards Knowledge of OSHA, FDA, and HIPAA compliance standards Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment Comfortable working around blood, dental instruments, and clinical odors while maintaining professionalism Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines Excellent communication and teamwork skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment Flexible and adaptable to changing responsibilities and office needs Benefits Health and Vision Insurance
