Job Description

Sterile Processing Tech McKenzie-Willamette Medical Center is your community medical provider, serving the Willamette Valley and its residents. Our 113-bed hospital offers inpatient, outpatient, diagnostic, medical, surgical and emergency care. We are a family of caregivers offering care to our larger family — our community.

Job Summary:
The Sterile Processing Technician II prepares and distributes supplies and equipment ready for use in all patient care areas, as well as for the Operating Rooms. Based on pre-determined inventory (PAR) levels, and surgical cases, these technicians count and replenish processed supplies for each location. Reusable instruments and items are collected, decontaminated, repackaged, sterilized and returned to storage or the next point of use. Patient care equipment is collected, cleaned and stored between patient applications. Responsible for tracking some rental equipment. They will work in the operating area to ready supplies and instruments for specific surgical procedures, turn the rooms between cases and assist in moving and lifting patients. The SP Tech II will also assist in training newly hired technicians.
Qualifications:
Certified Registered Central Services Technician (CRCST) through IAHCSM or other recognized or accredited program or ability to obtain certification within 9 months. Six months experience in Healthcare Materials Management or Sterile Processing strongly preferred.
