Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Sterilization Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and cleanliness of our medical instruments and environments. This position requires a strong understanding of sterilization processes and adherence to health regulations, particularly in dental and medical settings. Duties Perform sterilization of dental and medical instruments using appropriate techniques and equipment. Maintain accurate records of sterilization processes, including tracking the use of instruments and supplies. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times. Assist in the organization and management of medical records, ensuring they are up-to-date and accessible. Collaborate with dental receptionists and other staff to ensure seamless patient care. Operate various systems such as Epic, Eaglesoft, and 3D scanners as needed for efficient workflow. Conduct routine maintenance checks on sterilization equipment to ensure optimal functioning. Stay informed about current best practices in sterilization techniques, particularly in prosthodontics and pediatric dentistry. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in sterilization or related field is preferred. Experience working in a dental or medical environment is highly desirable. Familiarity with X-Ray procedures and equipment is a plus. Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being self-motivated. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations regarding patient information is essential. Previous experience with medical records management is advantageous. Proficiency in using various software systems related to dental practices, including Epic and Eaglesoft.
