Job Description Summary The Sterile Processing Technician reports to the Manager, Sterile Processing. Under general supervision of the department manager, shift supervisor or designee, the Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for decontamination, cleaning, processing, and sterilization of instruments in compliance with medical center policies and procedures, state, local and federal requirements. - Sterile Supply (LMC) Pay Rate Type Hourly Pay Grade Health-23 Scheduled Weekly Hours 36 Work Shift Job Description The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for the cleaning, decontamination, sterilization, assembly, and distribution of surgical instruments and medical equipment used in the Operating Room (OR), Endoscopy, and other procedural areas. This role is critical in ensuring patient safety by maintaining strict infection control standards and providing the surgical team with properly sterilized instruments and supplies. Additional Job Description High School Diploma or GED, and certification through
CRCST - HSPA
(Healthcare Sterile Processing Association) or CBSPD (Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution). Minimum of one (1) year of sterile processing experience, preferably in a hospital or surgical setting. Successful completion of the department's internal written and practical exam, as well as meeting required performance and productivity standards, is required to attain and maintain Sterile Processing II status.
