Position Summary:
Endoscope Reprocessors play a critical role by ensuring that endoscopes used for procedures are thoroughly cleaned, disinfected, and prepared for subsequent use. They follow strict protocols to ensure patient safety. Their primary duties and responsibilities include: Receiving, cleaning and decontaminating used endoscopes Performing manual cleaning and high-level disinfection of endoscopes following manufacturer's guidelines Inspecting and testing endoscopes for functionality and damage Operating and maintaining equipment used in the cleaning and sterilization process, such as automatic endoscope reprocessors Preparing and packaging endoscopes for sterilization Documenting and maintaining records of the reprocessing cycle for each endoscope Ensuring compliance with infection control standards and regulations Communicating with clinical staff regarding the availability of endoscopes and any equipment issues Participating in quality improvement initiatives related to endoscope reprocessing Managing inventory of endoscope reprocessing supplies Position is Monday through Friday 0830-5:00 pm. Closed weekends and major holidays
Position Qualification:
High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in a similar role is preferred. Knowledge of sterilization procedures and infection control principles. Ability to handle and operate sterilization equipment. Detail-oriented and ability to follow strict procedures. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Certification in Sterile Processing and Distribution (CSPD) or a related field is a plus.
