experience Mid-level Clinical staff training Disinfection procedures Developing new training programs Certified Surgical Technologist Continuous quality improvement (CQI) Decontamination 2 years Educational program management Full Job Description • Responsibilities include; but are not limited to; working independently and collaboratively with department managers to coordinate the orientation process and provide in the department education of new equipment; products; and processes. Develop and provide department educational programs regarding proper decontamination; disinfection; and sterilization methods. Create and evaluate skills and competency of Sterile Processing technicians; adhering to the governing agencies guidelines and standards. Act as a resource; liaison; employee educator to the nursing units and ancillary departments that utilize the Sterile Processing Department.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Education Post High School Vocational/Specialized Training Minimum Work Experience Two years Sterile Processing or Operating Room experience Required Licenses/Certifications Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST); Central Supply Processing Department Tech (CSPDT); Certified Surgical Technician (CST) required. Certified Instrument Specialist (CIS) within 12 months of hire date. Required Skills; Knowledge; and Abilities Commitment to become an expert in education promoting continuous quality improvement Ability to present educational information in a professional manner Ability to organize and complete educational requirements according to facility and governing agency requirements Ability to function as an effective team member throughout the health system Designated Driver No OSHA Category • 1 - High Risk
