Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Sterile Processing Technician, where your expertise ensures the safety and well-being of patients through meticulous sterilization and preparation of medical instruments. In this vital role, you will be responsible for cleaning, sterilizing, inspecting, and distributing surgical tools and equipment with precision and care. Your dedication helps facilitate smooth surgical procedures and promotes a safe environment for both staff and patients. Duties Receive, inspect, and process used surgical instruments and equipment to ensure they meet strict sterilization standards. Operate sterilization machinery such as autoclaves, ultrasonic cleaners, and drying units following manufacturer guidelines and safety protocols. Disassemble, assemble, and package instruments accurately for sterilization and storage. Maintain detailed records of sterilization cycles, equipment maintenance, and inventory levels to ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Collaborate with surgical teams to prioritize instrument needs for upcoming procedures and ensure timely delivery of sterile supplies. Conduct routine quality checks on sterilized items to verify cleanliness, functionality, and safety before distribution. Adhere strictly to infection control policies, safety procedures, and regulatory requirements at all times. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in sterile processing or related field is preferred. Proven experience working in a sterile processing or medical equipment environment is highly desirable. Knowledge of sterilization techniques, medical instrument handling, and infection control standards. Ability to operate sterilization equipment safely and efficiently while following detailed instructions. Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks accurately. Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with surgical staff and team members.
