Worker Sub Type Per Diem Work Shift Pay Grade 104 Job Description Sterile Processing Technician Associates are high school students who are in the Healthcare Professions academic track. Sterile Processing Technician Associates are responsible for following infection control recommendations and standards as described through accreditation agencies and under the supervision of Sterile Processing Technicians, Team Leads, and Sterile Processing Manager.
Tasks include:
Inspects, assembles, packages, sterilizes, stores, and distributes reusable medical devices for surgical and procedural cases. Ensures instrumentation is functional and removes defective devices from service. Practices maintenance of sufficient inventory and par levels of supplies and instrumentation. Understands the rationales for disinfection and sterilization methodologies and processes. Provides excellent customer service exhibiting positive interpersonal skills to user departments, vendors, and team members. Engages in tasks as needed to maintain functionality and cleanliness of the department. Sterile Processing Technician Associates will NOT be expected or permitted to work in the Decontamination area due to the risk of potential exposure to blood-borne pathogens. Education High school student aged 16+ years AND have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
