In this vital role, you will be responsible for the sterilization, processing, and management of surgical instruments and medical equipment to ensure patient safety and optimal operating room readiness. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of sterile processing procedures, anatomy, and physiology, contributing to a safe and efficient clinical environment. This position offers an opportunity to support healthcare professionals in delivering high-quality patient care through meticulous instrument management. Responsibilities Properly clean, disinfect, sterilize, and assemble surgical instruments and medical devices following established protocols and aseptic techniques. Maintain accurate inventory records of sterile supplies and equipment using inventory management systems. Ensure all processed instruments meet quality standards for sterility and functionality before distribution. Adhere to strict infection control policies and safety guidelines during all stages of sterilization. Collaborate with clinical staff to understand instrument needs and ensure timely availability. Inspect instruments for damage or wear, reporting issues promptly for repair or replacement. Assist in the storage, labeling, and documentation of sterilized items to facilitate easy retrieval. Follow detailed procedures related to anatomy knowledge and physiology to handle specialized equipment appropriately. Participate in ongoing training on sterile processing techniques, medical terminology, and aseptic practices. Requirements Prior experience in sterile processing or a related healthcare environment is preferred. Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to surgical procedures. Proficiency in inventory management systems and sterilization equipment operation. Solid understanding of aseptic techniques and infection control standards. Excellent attention to detail with the ability to follow complex protocols accurately. Effective communication skills to collaborate with healthcare professionals across departments.
