Join the Team at Alabama Surgical Arts Alabama Surgical Arts is seeking a motivated, professional, and patient-focused Oral Surgery Assistant to join our growing surgical team. This position offers the opportunity to work alongside board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeons in a state-of-the-art practice specializing in oral surgery, facial cosmetic surgery, and advanced patient care. Position Summary The Oral Surgery Assistant is responsible for assisting surgeons during surgical procedures, preparing treatment rooms, providing exceptional patient care, maintaining sterilization protocols, and supporting clinical operations throughout the patient experience. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Assist surgeons during oral and maxillofacial surgical procedures, including: Dental implant placement Wisdom tooth extractions Bone grafting procedures Full-arch implant rehabilitation Exposure and bonding procedures Facial trauma management Cosmetic facial procedures Prepare and break down surgical operatories. Obtain and document patient medical histories and vital signs. Educate patients on pre-operative and post-operative instructions. Assist with IV sedation procedures and patient monitoring. Maintain accurate clinical documentation and charting. Perform instrument sterilization and ensure compliance with OSHA, CDC, and infection-control standards. Take and process radiographs and CBCT scans. Manage inventory and surgical supplies. Provide compassionate and professional patient care throughout the treatment process. Assist with patient recovery and discharge instructions. Qualifications Previous oral surgery, dental assisting, surgical assisting, or healthcare experience preferred. Current Dental Assisting certification preferred but not required. Radiology certification preferred. CPR certification required (or willingness to obtain). Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced surgical environment. Professional appearance and positive attitude. Experience with IV sedation monitoring is a plus. Pay:
$17.00 - $25.00 per hour
