In this vital role, you will coordinate surgical scheduling, assist with preoperative planning, and ensure accurate medical billing and coding. Your proactive approach will streamline processes, enhance communication between departments, and support our commitment to delivering exceptional healthcare services. Duties Collaborate with surgeons, patients, and administrative staff to develop detailed surgical plans and schedules. Prepare and review surgical documentation, including operative reports. Accurately assign Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) codes, and International Classification of Diseases (ICD-9 and ICD-10) codes for procedures and diagnoses. Ensure all medical records are complete, organized, and compliant with healthcare regulations. Submit claims using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) or Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, verifying accuracy before submission. Stay current with coding updates, insurance policies, and billing regulations to maintain compliance and optimize reimbursement. Qualifications Proven experience in medical office administration or medical billing with familiarity in surgical planning support preferred. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and healthcare documentation standards. Proficiency in medical coding including
DRG, CPT
coding, ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding systems. Experience with EMR/EHR systems for documentation and billing purposes. Excellent attention to detail to ensure accurate coding and billing practices. Ability to communicate effectively with healthcare professionals, insurance providers, and patients. Knowledge of medical collection procedures and insurance claim processing is a plus.
