Medical Assistant Responsibilities and Duties.
- Preparing sterile surgical trays
- Rooming patients and taking vital signs and histories
- Administering local anesthesia and preparing patients for surgery or biopsies
- Assisting Dr. Dhir in Mohs surgery stages and reconstructions, including flaps and full thickness skin grafts. Must be proficient in using sterile technique and maintain a sterile field.
- Instrument processing and sterilization
- Accurately scribing and documenting using our EHR system (Modernizing Medicine - EMA) on an iPad and iMac
- Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy, especially as it pertains to dermatology and facial surgery
- Answering phones, scheduling appointments, and calling patients after surgery
Medical Assistant Requirements:
Education:
High School Diploma / GED
- Completion of an accredited CMA or CST program, or significant surgical assistant experience (certification is required)
- Two years experience in procedural dermatology, facial plastics, or another surgical subspecialty
- Knowledge and proficiency of sterile technique and wound care
- Strong personal work ethic, maturity, professionalism and team skills
- A strong dedication to patients' well-being
- Punctuality and dependability
Details:
- Currently hiring for one full-time position, four days per week (usually Monday-Thursday)
Office Hours:
Monday to Friday 7am-4pm
- Shifts start at 6:00am or 6:30am until all work and notes are completed.
(30 minute break for lunch, schedule permitting). Overtime may be occasionally be required and will accrue if over 40 hours are worked in a week. Overtime will be paid at time and a half.
