Job Description

Overview Under the direction of Healthcare Leadership, the Surgical Scheduler coordinates and manages the surgical scheduling activities for all clinic physicians. This role ensures seamless coordination of patient care by utilizing established administrative, operational, and financial policies and procedures throughout the surgical scheduling process. The Surgical Scheduler serves as a key liaison between the clinic, surgical departments, and financial services to facilitate efficient communication, optimize workflow, and support a positive patient experience. Qualifications Qualifications Patient Population Served Provides support for patients of all age groups.
Education Required:
High school diploma or GED.
Preferred:
Completion of a Medical Terminology course. Required Skills Demonstrated knowledge of specialty surgical procedures, including associated acuity levels, specialized equipment, ancillary services, and staffing requirements.
Experience Required:
At least one year of surgical scheduling experience in a healthcare setting.
Preferred:
Experience using an electronic surgical scheduling system.
Licensure/Certifications Required:
Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification must be obtained within 12 months of hire or transfer.
Preferred:
