May, in accordance with state laws, help surgeons to make incisions and close surgical sites, manipulate or remove tissues, implant surgical devices or drains, suction the surgical site, place catheters, clamp or cauterize vessels or tissue, and apply dressings to surgical site.

Job Description

Responsibilities Under the supervison of healthcare leadershoip, the Surgical Coordinator will perform the following duties: Direct, coordinate, and facilitate surgical scheduling activities for all clinic physicians. Apply appropriate administrative, financial, and operational policies and procedures to support continuity of care for surgical patients. Coordinate surgical scheduling processes to ensure efficient patient flow and timely access to care. Serve as a liaison between the department and other surgical and financial areas. Collaborate with internal teams to support effective communication and coordination of surgical services.

High School Diploma or GED Preferred:
Medical Terminology Course Necessary Skills Required:
Demonstrated knowledge of specialty surgical procedures with associated acuity levels and specialized equipment, ancillary services and staffing needs.
Experience :
Required:
1 year of experience scheduling in a healthcare environment.
Preferred:
Experience in electronic surgical scheduling program a plus.
Licensure/Certifications Required:
CPC (Certified Procedural Coder) certification required within 12 months of hire or transfer.
Age of Patients Served All Age Groups Qualifications:
