Job Description

Dental Surgical Assistant - Oral Surgery & Implants We are seeking a skilled, motivated, and patient-focused Surgical Dental Assistant to join our growing oral surgery team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced dental assistant who thrives in a surgical environment and is passionate about providing exceptional patient care. About the Role As a Surgical Dental Assistant, you will work directly alongside our oral surgeons to provide outstanding care before, during, and after surgical procedures. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable assisting with complex surgical procedures while maintaining a calm and compassionate patient experience. Responsibilities Assist oral surgeons during surgical procedures including extractions, dental implant placement, bone grafting, biopsies, and other oral surgery treatments Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments and operatories Monitor and support patient comfort throughout treatment Take and process digital radiographs and CBCT scans Review medical histories and obtain vital signs Provide pre-operative and post-operative instructions to patients Maintain accurate clinical documentation and charting Ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control protocols Manage surgical inventory and supplies Assist with IV sedation procedures Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient patient flow and exceptional patient care Qualifications Current Dental Assistant certification as required by state regulations EFDA certification preferred but not required Minimum 1 year of dental assisting experience preferred Oral surgery experience strongly preferred Experience with dental implants and surgical procedures is a plus CPR certification required Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to multitask in a fast-paced surgical environment Professional appearance and positive attitude Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety What We're Looking For We are seeking a team member who is dependable, eager to learn, and committed to delivering an exceptional patient experience.
