Job Description

We are looking for a reliable Medical Assistant/ LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) Assistant to work in the clinical office and the surgical OR room within an Accredited Surgical Level Two Office for interventional pain procedures in our Sarasota location as well as other office locations. As a Surgical Assistant, you are directly involved in ensuring that we always deliver focused and empathetic patient care. As a true people person, you thrive in this environment as you greet patients warmly and triage them upon arrival. You prepare them for their procedures, by utilizing sterile prepping technique. You assist the provider in setting up sterile fields, maneuvering C-arm x-ray and creating procedure notes, while maintaining a calming presence for our patients. Schedule varies slightly based on patient schedule, Monday through Friday. You will work under the supervision of a re doctor. Surgical professionals must be first and foremost qualified and compassionate. The ideal candidate will be experienced in providing diverse basic care to those who need it while remaining patient and calm. It is a demanding job but also very rewarding. Clinical days will include triage, vitals, patient phone calls, medication reconciliation, one on one patient care, scheduling, Drug screening, Provider assistance. You will be required to travel in between our Sarasota and our Venice location assisting in our Surgical dept or Clinical department.

Follow up on clinical orders Equipment sterilization Stocking and putting away medical supplies Equipment disinfection Communicate with patients to provide procedure education and release instructions Skills Proven experience as MA or similar role Ability to undertake a variety of diverse care tasks and work in a multidisciplinary team Familiarity with Surgical Level Two Office, safety and sanitation standards and procedures Understanding of confidentiality obligations and nursing best practices Excellent knowledge of medical terminology Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Compassionate and able to handle stress Preferred license and/or certification: CMA/ Florida State Licensed Practical Nursing License
BLS/ACLS
Preferred Experience:
Two plus years experience with sterile field in OR settings Two plus years of surgical assistant experience
