In this role, you'll provide comprehensive assessments, administer medications, manage IVs, perform wound care, and coordinate care plans for adult med-surg patients. You'll collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team while documenting in modern EHR systems and educating patients and families. Responsibilities Provide direct patient care to adult medical-surgical patients, including assessments, medication administration, and wound care Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team Monitor, interpret, and document vital signs, lab results, and clinical changes, escalating concerns promptly Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans to promote optimal recovery Maintain accurate, timely electronic health records and ensure compliance with all clinical and safety protocols Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and case managers to coordinate transitions of care, including discharge and transfers Precept and support fellow nurses and ancillary staff, promoting a culture of empowerment, transparency, and continuous improvement Required Skills Medical-surgical nursing Patient assessment IV therapy and venipuncture Medication administration and reconciliation Telemetry monitoring and rhythm recognition Wound care and dressing changes Electronic Health Record (EHR) documentation Care planning and care coordination Patient and family education Infection control and patient safety protocols
