Job Description

Seeking energetic full-time Scrub Technician for a fast-paced Ophthalmic Ambulatory Surgery Center in Itasca, IL.
NO CALL, NO WEEKENDS & NO HOLIDAYS!
Job Qualifications:
Highly motivated and ability to multi-task efficiently under demanding situations. BLS on Hire or within 90 days of hire. Has at least 1-3 years of full time CST experience preferred. Minimum of 1 year experience required. Responsibilities Identified the patient and correct surgical intervention according to policy/procedure and communicates such information to all members of the surgical team. Prepares the operating room according to requirements of patient/procedure to be performed. Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedure, rules and regulations; calling for assistance from health care support personnel. Protects patient and employees by adhering to infection control policies and procedures. Maintains patient confidentiality. Ensures proper operation of equipment prior to start of surgical case and reports any malfunctions to Administrator. Maintains supply inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipate needed supplies and report any needs to materials or designee. Will be available to the physician for assistance with site verification or other as needed. Reviews OR schedule daily, as well as collaborating with Administrator, anesthesia and surgical staff. Demonstrates knowledge of surgical procedures and equipment. Opens and prepares the operating room suite each morning. Is responsible for maintaining and being familiar with each equipment tray used. Pulls cases for the next day's surgery. Performs OR room turnover utilizing proper aseptic technique at all times.
