You'll actively assist during surgical procedures by helping maintain visualization of the surgical field, controlling bleeding, handling tissue, and performing other first-assist duties that support efficient and successful surgical outcomes. Responsibilities Assist surgeons during operative procedures using approved first-assist techniques Help maintain hemostasis, tissue handling, exposure, and wound closure as directed Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and surgical team throughout procedures Prepare and maintain a safe, sterile surgical environment Collaborate with nurses, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient care Maintain patient, family, physician, and employee confidentiality Participate in ongoing education and professional development activities Qualifications & Education High school diploma or GED required Graduate of a Surgical Assisting program accredited by CAAHEP through
ARC/STSA
Certification Current Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) certification through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) Current CPR certification required Maintain certification through continuing education or successful recertification Knowledge of surgical first-assist techniques, including hemostasis, tissue handling, retracting, and suturing Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and assist with shared lifting of up to 100 pounds #allied

$31.99 - $47.98 per hour
