Job Description

Established in 1972, Dermatology Associates of Concord is a leading Physician-owned dermatology practice dedicated to providing exceptional care to our patients. The practice consists of 14 providers and has offices in Concord, Cambridge, and Waltham. We specialize in both medical and cosmetic dermatology, offering a comprehensive range of services to meet the diverse needs of our community. Our team of dedicated staff work collaboratively to offer personalized treatment in a welcoming and patient-centered environment. Our commitment to excellence, innovation, and patient satisfaction has established us as a trusted leader in dermatologic care. This is a full-time (40 hrs/wk) position working as a hands-on medical assistant in our Concord and Cambridge, MA locations. Must have the ability to travel between offices.
Responsibilities:
Assist Mohs Surgeon in Mohs surgery procedures, as well as in general dermatological surgical procedures, biopsies and excisions Directly assists the surgeon during surgical procedures, anticipates surgeon's needs, and communicates needs ahead of time to avoid delays Responsible for cutting, staining and preparing tissue samples for the Mohs Surgeon to review Using automated equipment and instruments including microscopes, cryotomes, microtomes and other lab equipment Maintains sterile technique as appropriate - ensures safe handling and disposition of instruments and equipment to proper location after procedures Under physician supervision draw up injections Prepare exam and/or treatment rooms with necessary equipment and supplies for examination and treatment Review previous office note to determine tests required at time of service and communicate any outstanding needs to provider Prepare patient for examination and/or treatment Document patient's medical history and current dermatological conditions Perform medication review per protocol on every patient and make changes in EMR as appropriate Maintain, stock and clean examination rooms
Minimum Qualifications:
High school degree required Previous patient care experience Excellent communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Surgical Assistant or Medical Assistant certification desired Two years of experience in clinical assisting or surgical assisting
