Full Job Description Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Surgical Dental Assistant to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional who is passionate about providing excellent patient care and helping to improve oral health. The successful candidate will be an integral part of our surgical dental team, providing clinical support to ensure the smooth running of our daily schedule and procedures.
Surgical Dental Assistant Responsibilities & Duties:
Assist the dental surgeon during surgical procedures. Prepare and maintain instruments, equipment, and materials necessary for surgical procedures. Take and record patient medical histories, vital signs, and blood pressure. Take radiographs as directed by the dentist. Educate patients on post-operative care and follow-up procedures. Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure infection control. Schedule and confirm appointments and follow up with patients to ensure their satisfaction with the care provided. Prepare and maintain patient charts, including updating patient information and charting procedures.
Surgical Dental Assistant Qualifications & Skills:
Certification in dental assisting. Prior experience as a surgical dental assistant. Knowledge of dental software and electronic medical records. CPR and first aid certification. Experience with surgical instrument sterilization techniques. Graduate of an accredited dental assisting program. Certification as a Dental Assistant from the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB). Experience assisting in oral surgery procedures. DAANCE required. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask. Ability to maintain patient confidentiality. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
