Job Description

Job Summary Join our dynamic dental team as an Oral Surgery Assistant, where you will play a vital role in supporting oral surgeons during complex surgical procedures. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment, providing exceptional care and ensuring smooth clinical operations. As an integral part of our team, you will utilize your expertise in dental assisting, medical documentation, and infection control to enhance patient experiences and promote optimal oral health outcomes. This paid position is ideal for motivated individuals passionate about dentistry, seeking to develop their skills in a collaborative setting. Responsibilities Assist the oral surgeon during surgical procedures, including extractions, implants, and biopsies Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments and treatment rooms Monitor patients' vital signs during procedures Provide pre-operative and post-operative patient care and instructions Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) Maintain accurate patient records and documentation Ensure compliance with infection control and safety protocols Manage inventory and order surgical supplies as needed Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Completion of a dental assisting program preferred X-ray certification (as required by state regulations) CPR/BLS certification Previous experience in oral surgery or dental assisting strongly preferred Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment
Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of surgical procedures and instruments Experience with sedation or anesthesia monitoring Familiarity with dental software systems Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
