Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic part-time (2+ days a month) Oral Surgery Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional chairside assistance during oral surgery procedures, ensuring a smooth, efficient, and comfortable experience for our patients. Your expertise will support the oral surgeon in performing complex surgeries, managing patient care, and maintaining a sterile environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, patient-centered setting where your skills in dental assisting and medical documentation will make a meaningful difference. Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms with all necessary instruments and materials, ensuring adherence to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols. Assist the oral surgeon during surgical procedures by handing instruments, managing sutures, and monitoring patient comfort. Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans when necessary, to assist in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. Monitor vital signs and assess patient well-being before, during, and after surgeries to ensure safety and comfort. Educate patients on post-operative care instructions, medication usage, and follow-up appointments to promote healing and satisfaction. Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment by following infection control standards and sterilization procedures aligned with HIPAA regulations. Requirements Proven experience as a dental assistant with a focus on oral surgery Proficiency in dental terminology, medical terminology, and understanding of anatomy relevant to oral surgery procedures. Skilled in chairside assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry to enhance workflow efficiency. Knowledge of dental imaging equipment such as X-ray machines and 3D scanners for diagnostic purposes. Familiarity with EMR systems like Denticon or similar platforms for medical documentation and records management. Strong understanding of infection control practices, aseptic technique, and sterilization processes. Ability to accurately perform vital signs assessment
