No Weekends Position Overview We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to join an Operating Room team on a contract basis. The Surgical Technician plays a critical role in supporting surgical procedures by maintaining a sterile environment, preparing instruments and supplies, assisting surgeons during operations, and ensuring patient safety throughout the perioperative process. The ideal candidate will have strong scrubbing experience in Ophthalmology, ENT, and Plastic Surgery, demonstrate excellent knowledge of aseptic techniques, and possess the ability to anticipate surgical team needs in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Perform surgical scrub, gowning, and gloving procedures using established sterile techniques Prepare and maintain sterile instrument tables, surgical supplies, and equipment Assist with patient draping and preparation of the operative field Anticipate surgeon needs by providing instruments, sutures, sponges, and supplies during procedures Monitor and maintain aseptic technique throughout surgical cases Perform and document sponge, needle, and instrument counts with the circulating nurse Assist with specimen handling, labeling, preservation, and transport Apply dressings and assist with drainage systems as directed Assist with patient transfers utilizing approved perioperative transfer devices Ensure proper disposal of contaminated materials and preparation of instruments for reprocessing Clean and prepare operating rooms between procedures Assist with patient positioning while maintaining safety and comfort Support operative records, counts documentation, and perioperative documentation Assist with room turnover and preparation for subsequent cases Support medication preparation under RN supervision and within scope of practice Properly label medications, syringes, basins, and solutions according to facility policy Assist in maintaining inventory levels and communicating supply needs Follow OSHA standards, infection prevention guidelines, and PPE requirements Requirements High School Diploma or Equivalent Completion of an Accredited Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Program Current CST Certification Minimum 2 Years of Scrubbing Experience in: Ophthalmology ENT (Ear, Nose & Throat) Plastic Surgery Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, instrumentation, and sterile techniques Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively with surgeons, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to communicate effectively in English Physical stamina and manual dexterity required for surgical support duties Preferred Prior Operating Room Experience Additional coursework in Operating Room Technology, Biology, Chemistry, or related sciences Experience in high-volume surgical settings Strong knowledge of infection prevention and aseptic practices Schedule Details Contract Position 5 Days per

  • 5:00 PM Flexibility to work 7:00 AM
