Overview We are seeking a dedicated Surgical Support Aide to join our healthcare team, providing essential assistance in surgical procedures and perioperative care. This role involves supporting surgical teams by managing sterile environments, handling surgical instruments, and ensuring smooth workflow within the operating room. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and sterile techniques, contributing to patient safety and operational efficiency. Duties Prepare operating rooms by ensuring all surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment are sterile, organized, and ready for procedures. Assist surgical staff with instrument handling, passing tools efficiently during surgeries while maintaining strict aseptic technique. Manage inventory of surgical supplies and equipment, tracking usage and restocking as needed to prevent shortages. Support sterilization processes by cleaning, disinfecting, and sterilizing instruments according to established protocols. Maintain accurate documentation of surgical supplies and procedures to ensure compliance with safety standards. Assist in positioning patients appropriately for surgery, ensuring comfort and safety throughout the procedure. Collaborate with medical personnel to uphold infection control standards and support overall operative workflow. Handle specimen collection and labeling accurately for laboratory processing. Support preoperative preparations by organizing necessary materials and verifying patient information. Participate in ongoing training related to anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and aseptic techniques to enhance job performance.
