Dental Assistant - Clinical Operations Tiny Tooth Dentistry Under Anesthesia Position Overview Tiny Tooth Dentistry Under Anesthesia is seeking a compassionate, organized, and dependable Dental Assistant - Clinical Operations to join our pediatric surgical team. This role combines chairside dental assisting with responsibility for supporting efficient daily clinical operations. The ideal candidate enjoys working with children and patients with special healthcare needs, pays close attention to detail, and is committed to maintaining a safe, organized, and supportive surgical environment. Key Responsibilities Clinical Support Prepare, stock, and turn over treatment rooms for pediatric dental procedures performed under anesthesia. Provide efficient chairside assistance and anticipate the dentist's needs throughout each procedure. Assist with patient positioning and transfers in collaboration with the dental and anesthesia teams. Communicate compassionately with children, parents, and guardians. Reinforce preoperative and postoperative instructions as directed by the clinical team. Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation. Clinical Operations Coordinate daily room readiness, clinical workflow, instrument rotation, and supply availability. Clean, package, sterilize, and properly store instruments according to applicable OSHA and CDC guidelines. Monitor clinical and surgical inventory and communicate supply needs before shortages occur. Help maintain organized treatment rooms, sterilization areas, supply spaces, and clinical equipment. Complete opening, closing, cleaning, restocking, and safety responsibilities. Identify workflow concerns and communicate them promptly to the appropriate team member. Follow established infection-control, patient-safety, emergency-response, and documentation procedures. Support smooth communication among dentists, anesthesia providers, and clinical staff. Minimum Qualifications Dental assisting education or equivalent in-office training appropriate for the assigned duties. Current BLS/CPR certification for Healthcare Providers. Current Ohio Dental Assistant Radiographer certificate, or eligibility to obtain one, if radiographs are included in the role. Knowledge of chairside dental assisting, medical terminology, sterilization, instrument processing, and infection-control practices. Strong organizational, documentation, and time-management skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-based clinical environment. Excellent communication skills and a compassionate approach to children and families. Preferred Qualifications Pediatric dental assisting experience. Experience working with patients who have special healthcare needs. Experience in a dental surgery, anesthesia, sedation, or operating-room environment. Familiarity with Dentrix, Epic, or similar clinical software. Typically, three to four surgery days per week Shift length: Typically, eight hours Some flexibility is required based on patient and operating-room schedules.
