Job Description

DEFINITION
Under the direction of a licensed nurse, the Surgery Attendant performs delegated tasks and procedures in the Surgery Department. This is primarily an environmental services role, cleaning and stocking operating rooms. The Surgery Attendant may have limited patient care through assisting with positioning of patients for surgical procedures and with transferring patients from stretchers to OR tables, which involves the physical, and psychological, social, emotional, safety, and security needs of the patient. This is a safety sensitive position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
