To learn more about Team OC please visit https://www.orthocarolina.com/about-us We are currently searching for a Certified Surgical Technician - First Assistant to work with our Surgeons out of our OrthoCarolina Fort Mill office location . The schedule for this position is Thursdays (8 hours). The Certified Surgical Tech is responsible for assisting physicians with operative procedures and patient care in the procedure room.
Essential Functions:
This role works with multiple surgical providers. Follow Provider Protocols and Standing Orders. Assists with preparation of sterile area and room setup before procedure including the planning of all supplies and instrumentation needed for the case. Assists the surgeon(s) during operative procedures to include but not limited to, suctioning, utilization of sponges, hold retractors, clamp bleeds, cut sutures, position or repositioning of light and/or cameras, and other non- discerning instruments. Helps surgical team to maintain patient safety through monitoring sterile technique during draping and surgical procedures.
Qualifications:
High School diploma; Certification from a college or technical school with 3-6 months related experience and/or training or equivalent training. Graduate of an operating tech program. Certification as required by Surgical Technician Prefer one year experience in a medical office setting. Orthopedic experience preferred.
