1 Description American Traveler is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) for a day shift OR position at a hospital in Palmer, AK, requiring 2+ years of surgical tech experience across multiple specialties. Details Hospital operating room setting with 6 ORs Surgical cases include ortho, general, spine, vascular, urology, and OB 1:1 patient ratio Day shift hours: 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday-Friday (10-hour shifts) with a rotating weekday off On-call is required No floating required Cerner EMR in use Scrubs are provided by the facility Requirements Minimum of 2 years of surgical technologist experience required Experience across ortho, general, spine, vascular, urology, and OB cases required BLS certification required CRST certification preferred CST credential (from NBSTSA following completion of a CAAHEP-accredited or equivalent program) required Cerner EMR experience preferred No certifications expiring within the first 30 days of the contract start date Valid driver's license required for consideration License required if applicable Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible Additional Information Prepare the operating room including the sterile field, surgical equipment, supplies, and solutions Pass instruments, fluids, and supplies to the surgeon during procedures Manage the sterile field and surgical specimens simultaneously Perform counts of sponges and supplies to prevent retained foreign objects Labor Day falls within a blackout period — RTO is not available during this time RTO requests must be less than 1 week, with a maximum of 2 weeks total for the contract Candidates who have worked at any CHS facility as permanent staff within the past 2 years will not be considered No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
