1 Description American Traveler is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with at least 1 year of experience for a 13-week OR travel assignment in Alaska. Details Hospital OR setting serving a diverse surgical patient population with advanced and complex case types Day shift, Tuesday through Friday, 10 hours per day On-call required for emergency cases that may need two surgical technicians Requirements Minimum of 1 year of surgical technologist experience preferred High school diploma or GED required Completion of a surgical technologist training program accredited by CAAHEP or a recognized accrediting agency CST certification required Active BLS certification required Active state license required, if applicable Flu vaccination required Knowledge of anatomy and physiology, instrumentation, suturing materials, prosthetic devices, wound healing, and patient growth and development Proficiency in sterile technique, instrument processing, and patient positioning Additional Information Scrub in on a variety of advanced and complex surgical procedures under RN supervision Anticipate surgeon preferences for instruments and materials, updating the nurse as needed based on ongoing assessment Set up and maintain sterile tables with appropriate instruments, equipment, supplies, and medications or solutions Disassemble, clean, reassemble, and prepare instruments for terminal sterilization Monitor supplies and instruments to ensure sterility and support quality assurance standards Inventory and order assigned service supplies as needed Contribute to the development of educational programs, in-service classes, and learning aids for the department Provide input on policy, procedure, and patient care standard updates Participate in assigned committees and additional duties as assigned All certifications must be current and active at time of consideration
