Coordinates the clinical patient care of surgical services for the assigned service line. This includes the maintenance of surgeon preference cards, intradepartmental coordination, management of vendor relationships, and other associated duties for the service line. Consults in a variety of patient care situations requiring advanced competency and knowledge. Serves as a technical or functional resource for staff and performs similar patient care duties. Assigns, monitors and reviews progress of work. Monitors and reports compliance with policies and procedures. Coordinates shift operations including scheduling, assigned activities, and resources. Responsible for coordinating these operations to ensure optimal workflow for the service line. Evaluates and oversees orientation and training of assigned associates. May provide input in the review and evaluation of staff performance and interview process. Participates in ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services provided for the service line, in collaboration with other members of the management team. Registration:
Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) OR the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) preferred. BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Education:
High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree required. Minimum 2 years of related experience required. 3 years of related experience and graduate of a surgical tech program preferred.
