1 Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist with strong trauma and neuro experience for a Level II Trauma Center surgery position in Montgomery, AL. Details Work in a Level II Trauma Center hospital with 492 beds, a Level III NICU, and Primary Stroke Center designation Assigned to the general/trauma surgery service line with backup coverage for ortho, neuro, and ENT Patient population includes general, trauma, neuro, vascular (including endovascular), ENT, ortho spine, GYN, urology, robotics, plastics, breast, and eye cases, with minimal pediatric cases (typically ortho) 1:1 patient ratio in a 15-bed surgical unit Robotic platform experience with Mazor and DaVinci XI is preferred
EMR:
Cerner; IV pumps: Plum 360; medication dispensing: Omnicell; monitors: Spacelabs 12-hour day shifts, 36 hours per week, Wednesday through Friday No floating required On-call required: one day per week (3p-7a) and one weekend per month (Friday 3p-Monday 7a) for all service lines except Open Heart Weekend rotation is on-call One holiday worked per contract is expected Requirements Minimum of 2 years of surgical technologist experience required; candidates with only 1 year of experience will not be considered Strong hands-on experience in trauma (excluding burns) and neuro is required Proficiency in general, vascular (including endovascular), ENT, ortho spine, GYN, urology, plastics, breast, and eye surgeries CVOR/open heart experience is not required for this role CST or equivalent certification is preferred but not required BLS certification required AL state license required if applicable Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible Reference from a charge nurse or above from within the past 12 months required for consideration DOB (day and month) and full SSN required for consideration Copy of certifications required for consideration Additional Information First-time travelers are accepted provided they have at least 2 years of experience Former permanent staff must wait 6 months before being considered as a traveler at this facility Orientation is 2 weeks on day shift; buddy call is expected during the orientation period Unit support includes an ORA, desk assistant, some first assists, a charge nurse, and team leaders for each service line Scrubs are green and provided by the facility Parking is available in an on-site parking deck An interview with the hiring manager is required; this facility does not utilize auto offers
