1 Description American Traveler seeks a CVOR Scrub Tech with at least 2-3 years of experience and open heart surgical background for a 13-week contract at a Level II Trauma Center in Montgomery, AL. Details Hospital-based CVOR unit with 15 total OR beds, including 2 dedicated cardiovascular rooms Patient population includes open heart cases such as CABG, TAVR, AVR, MVR, sternotomy, thoracotomy/thoracoscopy, VATS, and ECMO 1:1 patient ratio 10-hour day shifts starting at 6:00 AM, 40 hours per week No floating to other units required Weekend on-call rotation required On-call scheduled approximately 10-12 days per month Holiday coverage is expected per contract
EMR:
Cerner Equipment includes Plum 360 IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Spacelabs monitors Requirements Minimum of 2-3 years of CVOR scrub experience required Experience with open heart procedures including CABG, TAVR, AVR, MVR, sternotomy, thoracotomy/thoracoscopy, VATS, and
ECMO BLS
certification required; surgical tech certification preferred but not required AL license required if applicable Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible One reference from a charge nurse or above within the past 12 months required for consideration

(day and month), and copies of certifications required for consideration Additional Information First-time travelers are accepted with at least 2-3 years of experience Candidates with CV (open heart) experience and those with vascular (peripheral vascular) experience will be evaluated separately — please be prepared to specify your experience type Unit support includes an ORA, desk assistant, scrub assistants/FAs, a charge nurse, and team leaders for service lines Orientation is 2 weeks on day shift; buddy call is expected during the orientation period Schedule is determined by department needs; time off requests must be approved by the manager Green scrubs are required and will be provided Former permanent staff must wait 6 months before being considered as a traveler An interview is required prior to any offer being extended
