Job Description

Category Nursing - ORT Job Type Contract Step into a vital surgical support role where your expertise will directly contribute to exceptional patient care. This position calls for dedicated professionals with backgrounds in surgical technology or perioperative nursing for a contract assignment. You'll have the opportunity to work alongside skilled OR teams, ensuring every procedure runs smoothly from preparation through recovery.
Key Qualifications:
Experience as a Surgical Technician (Certified or Non-certified) or in OR nursing support roles. Comprehensive understanding of surgical instruments, sterile technique, and operative room protocols. Ability to anticipate the needs of surgeons and other clinical staff during procedures. Strong communication skills and attention to detail under pressure. Current BLS certification preferred; relevant state/national certifications required for applicable roles. Previous experience supporting a range of surgical specialties is highly valued.
Schedule/Hours:
Contract-based role; specific shift details provided during interview, with opportunities for flexible scheduling.
Core Responsibilities:
Prepare operating rooms by setting up surgical equipment, instruments, and sterile drapes. Assist surgeons and nurses during operative procedures, providing necessary instruments and supplies. Maintain strict adherence to all infection control and patient safety protocols. Monitor and ensure a sterile environment at all times. Support efficient room turnover and proper handling of surgical specimens. Complete timely and accurate documentation of procedures and instrumentation used.
