Job Description
A full time position in a busy Ophthalmology practice. One year Ophthalmic tech/scrub experience preferred. Surgical tech degree is preferred but not required. Duties include but are not limited to: Clean and sterilize all surgical instruments. Strong knowledgebase of surgical instrumentation preferred. Strong knowledgebase in sterile technique preferred. Scrub and assist the surgical team during ophthalmic surgical procedures. Prepare and maintain the environment, medical equipment and supplies for surgical procedures. Prepare patient for surgery and transport patient to and from the operating room as required. Follow hospital regulations and industry procedures regarding patient care. Assist surgeon during operative procedures by passing instruments, medications, dressings, etc. Some travel is required. Perform a variety of tasks and additional duties as assigned. Full time Monday-Thursday 7:45-5:00 and Friday 8:00-12:00, these times may vary.
