Must be available to start by August 03, 2026 Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to support an 8-week EPIC conversion project at a leading acute care hospital in Bakersfield, CA. The ideal candidate will have recent Operating Room experience, strong knowledge of sterile technique, and hands-on experience with both Epic and Cerner electronic medical record systems. Responsibilities Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures by ensuring all instruments, supplies, and equipment are available and sterile. Assist surgeons, registered nurses, and the surgical team during operative procedures. Maintain sterile technique throughout surgical cases. Pass instruments, supplies, and equipment efficiently during surgery. Perform instrument counts before, during, and after procedures. Clean, organize, and restock operating rooms following procedures. Accurately document surgical information using Epic and Cerner EMR systems. Follow all hospital policies, infection prevention, and patient safety protocols. Requirements Active California Certified Surgical Technologist credential (or applicable California requirement). Current AHA BLS Certification . Minimum 2 years of recent Operating Room experience . Recent experience with Epic and Cerner EMR systems (within the last 5 years). Experience working as a hospital employee or successful travel contract using Epic and Cerner. Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced surgical environment.
