Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Operating Room Technician / Surgical Technologist for a 13-week travel assignment in Santa Rosa, California. The Surgical Tech will support the surgical team in an acute care hospital setting by preparing operating rooms, maintaining sterile technique, assisting with surgical procedures, and ensuring all required instruments and supplies are available for each case.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare operating rooms for scheduled surgical procedures. Ensure surgical instruments, equipment, supplies, and sterile materials are properly prepared and available. Assist surgeons, nurses, and other members of the surgical team during procedures. Maintain strict sterile technique throughout surgical cases. Perform accurate counts of instruments, needles, sponges, and other surgical supplies. Pass instruments and supplies to surgeons during procedures. Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and provide appropriate instruments and equipment. Assist with patient positioning and surgical site preparation while maintaining patient safety. Handle and label surgical specimens according to established procedures. AL01
Required Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of Surgical Tech / OR Tech experience; 5 years preferred. Previous travel experience required. Trauma Level I experience required. Acute care hospital experience required. BLS certification required. CST certification preferred. NBSTSA certification preferred.
