1 Description American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist with Trauma Level I experience for an acute care hospital OR position requiring a minimum of 3 years of experience. Details Work in a busy acute care hospital OR with 8 rooms and a daily census of 25 Trauma Level I facility supporting a wide range of surgical specialties including vascular, orthopedic, neuro, general, GYN, urology, and thoracic procedures Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours from 6:45 to 19:15 Weekend coverage required per the needs of the unit Call coverage required Floating required, including to sister facilities near the contracted location Epic EMR experience required Requirements Minimum of 3 years of surgical technology experience required, 5 years preferred Trauma Level I experience required Community hospital experience preferred Previous travel assignment experience required BLS certification required CST and NBSTSA certification preferred CA state license preferred; license required if applicable Pending license accepted Compact license must be in hand at time of submission for consideration Experience with vascular, GYN, plastics, neuro, orthopedic, general surgery, podiatry, urology, ENT, thoracic, and robotic-assisted procedures preferred Proficiency in aseptic technique, isolation precautions/PPE, sterilization/disinfection, and universal protocol (time out) procedures 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required for consideration Additional Information Support a wide variety of surgical cases across multiple specialties in a high-volume trauma center Maintain aseptic technique and adhere to infection control, sterilization, and safety protocols throughout procedures Participate in instrument and equipment preparation, including case carts, cell savers, and fiber optic light sources Assist with robotic-assisted surgeries using the Da Vinci Xi Surgical System Support organ transplant and other complex specialty procedures as needed Scrubs or business casual attire accepted Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day) RTO limited to no more than 7 days, with all time-off requests submitted upfront during the application process First-time travelers will not be considered for this role Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they are not within 50 miles of the facility Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50-mile radius
