NO NIGHTS/CALL/HOLIDAYS/WEEKENDS
We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our Operating Room (OR) team. In this role, you will maintain strict aseptic technique to ensure the highest-quality care across a diverse patient population (pediatric to geriatric). You will prepare the operative environment, maintain the sterile field, and anticipate surgeon instrumentation needs in a fast-paced environment.
Core Responsibilities Pre-Op:
Select and open sterile packs, perform hand scrubs, don sterile attire, and organize the back table/Mayo stand using surgeon preference cards.
Intra-Op:
Assist with draping, participate in surgical \"Time Outs,\" pass instruments/sutures smoothly, manage medications/irrigation, and perform strict sponge, needle, and instrument counts.
Post-Op:
Apply sterile dressings, safely handle/label specimens, break down the sterile field, and transport soiled instruments to decontamination.
Department Maintenance:
Restock operating rooms, return unused supplies to central storage, and assist with sterile processing tasks as needed based on cross-training.
Qualifications & Requirements Registration:
Active, unrestricted Registration with the Colorado DORA Office of Surgical Assistant and Surgical Technologist Registration.
Education:
Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program (Certificate or Associate Degree) preferred.
Certification:
NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred.
Required:
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Physical & Mental Demands Ability to stand in a stationary position for extended periods (5+ consecutive hours). Ability to lift/carry instrument trays up to 20 lbs. and push/pull equipment over 25 lbs. Fine motor skills, sharp depth perception, and acute hearing to follow verbal commands through surgical masks. High distress tolerance and rapid decision-making skills during high-stakes clinical scenarios.
