Certified Scrub Technologist Location:
Sarasota (ASC), FL 34239 Job Description We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Certified Scrub Technologist to join our surgical team at our Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) in Sarasota, FL. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing sterile instrumentation and supplies during surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety, and supporting the surgical team in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Prepare the operating room by setting up sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies prior to surgery. Assist surgeons and surgical team members by passing instruments and supplies during procedures. Maintain strict adherence to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols. Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after surgery to ensure all items are accounted for. Inspect surgical instruments and equipment for proper functioning and cleanliness. Collaborate with the surgical team to anticipate needs and respond promptly during procedures. Document surgical procedures and maintain accurate records as required. Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards within the ASC environment. Qualifications Current certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Scrub Technologist (NCCT or equivalent). Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a surgical technologist role, preferably in an ambulatory surgery center or hospital setting. Thorough knowledge of surgical instruments, procedures, and sterile techniques. Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. High school diploma or equivalent required; additional surgical technology education preferred. Work Environment This position is based at our Ambulatory Surgery Center in Sarasota, FL. The role requires standing for extended periods, working in a sterile environment, and responding quickly to surgical team needs.
