Job Description
Cleveland Clinic Martin North Hospital is a fully integrated, state-of-the-art medical campus that includes diagnostic centers, outpatient surgery and a 24-hour emergency department. Martin North Hospital is part of the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic, a nonprofit, multispecialty , academic medical center that integrates clinical and hospital care with research and education. The 44-bed Med/Surg and Urology Units on the 4 th floor at Martin Health North provide care to patients with kidney disease, high blood pressure and other related issues. The Renal Unit has 18 beds while the Urology Unit has 26 beds. As a Clinical Technician on this team, you will find a culture of respect, mutual support, and reliability. Every caregiver fills an essential role, and your efforts will help further facilitate t he efficient and compassionate delivery of patient care. With excellent coaching, you will have opportun ities to climb the Clinical Ladder and find your place at Cleveland Clinic. A caregiver in this position works night s from 6:00 P M - 6: 3 0 A M . A caregiver who excels in this role will: Provide or assist with patient care under the supervision of an RN , such as taking vital signs and weight, assisting patients with personal care , point of care testing, dressing changes, applying external monitoring devices and inserting urinary Foley catheter s . Report abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to an RN. Assist with keeping patients' rooms clean and orderly. Complete an internal training program within two weeks of hire . Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: High School Diploma or GED Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross upon or within new hire period Nursing students: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross prior to hire Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: One year of recent, full-time patient care experience OR nursing student who has completed at least one clinical rotation as part of an accredited nursing school program OR military experience as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) OR additional education/training
