1 Description American Traveler seeks a Surgical Technologist with strong CVOR and vascular experience for a teaching hospital's cardiovascular operating room. Details Teaching hospital setting within the CVOR unit, with potential to float to other OR cases when no cardiac cases are scheduled 230 staffed beds at a short-term acute care facility Day shift schedule of 3x12 hours from 11:00 to 23:30 Cardiac call required, typically averaging a minimum of about 6 shifts per month, with the possibility of more during short-staffed periods Weekend call shifts are 24 hours in duration May float within scope to sister facilities as needed to meet facility staffing needs EPIC charting system used Requirements Minimum of 18 months of experience required; 2+ years preferred, with 3+ years strongly preferred Strong Vascular and CVOR experience required BLS certification required NBSTSA and/or NCCT certification preferred but not required (License required if applicable) Experience with a wide range of vascular and cardiovascular procedures such as CABG, TAVR, VAD, EVAR, TEVAR, Carotid Endarterectomy, and Aortic Aneurysm repair Teaching hospital experience preferred Must be nicotine-free and able to pass a negative 10-panel drug screen plus nicotine (cotinine) test First-time travelers accepted Additional Information Assist with cardiovascular and vascular surgical procedures, including setup and support for call cases May be assigned to general OR cases when no CVOR cases are scheduled Facility uses ceil blue scrubs Strict no call-in policy in place at this smoke-free facility EKG and Pharmacology tests required during orientation with a maximum of 2 attempts each; no retesting allowed upon failure Required training modules must be completed prior to start, averaging 6-15 non-billable hours, with annual renewal All requested time off must be submitted and approved prior to assignment start, as later requests will not be considered Locals accepted at the same bill rate Returning staff must wait at least 1 year from their previous end date before rejoining this facility
