Job Description

HCA Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Surgical Technologist Cert to support safe, efficient surgical procedures in our dynamic operating rooms. In this role, you will prepare ORs and instruments, maintain strict sterile technique, and anticipate surgeon and team needs throughout procedures. You'll assist with patient positioning, surgical counts, and specimen handling while supporting infection prevention and accurate documentation. Responsibilities Prepare operating rooms, equipment, and supplies according to surgical procedures and surgeon preferences Set up, verify, and maintain sterile fields, ensuring compliance with aseptic and infection control standards Anticipate surgeon and team needs by passing instruments and supplies during procedures Assist with patient positioning, prepping, draping, and intraoperative patient safety measures Perform accurate surgical counts of sponges, needles, and instruments with the circulating nurse Handle, label, and transport specimens according to hospital policy and regulatory standards Operate and care for sterilization and decontamination equipment and surgical instruments Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and anesthesia providers to support efficient case flow Document required intraoperative data in the electronic medical record as directed Participate in ongoing training, quality initiatives, and process improvements within the OR Required Skills Surgical instrumentation setup Aseptic and sterile techniques Operating room preparation Surgical patient positioning Intraoperative assistance and retraction Specimen handling and labeling Surgical counts (sponges, needles, instruments) Use of sterilization equipment Electronic medical record documentation Infection prevention and control
