Available on a Case-by-Case Basis Overview A high-acuity cardiovascular surgical program in Savannah is seeking an experienced Certified CVOR Surgical Technologist (CVOR CST) to support open-heart and thoracic surgical procedures within a growing cardiovascular operating room environment. This role supports a dedicated cardiovascular surgery team performing a broad range of cardiac and thoracic procedures within one of the region's leading acute care and trauma centers. The ideal candidate has prior CVOR experience, strong sterile technique skills, and the ability to function effectively within a fast-paced cardiovascular surgical environment. CVOR Program Highlights 2 dedicated Heart OR suites Approximately 1,000 cardiovascular surgical cases annually and growing Cardiac and thoracic procedural focus Procedures include most cardiac and thoracic surgeries excluding transplant Reports directly to CVOR leadership High-acuity regional referral center environment Collaborative cardiovascular surgery team structure Responsibilities Prepare and maintain sterile surgical environments for cardiovascular and thoracic procedures Set up and manage surgical instrumentation, equipment, and supplies for CVOR cases Assist surgeons and perioperative teams during open-heart and cardiovascular procedures Support patient positioning, transport, and intraoperative workflow needs Perform surgical counts in collaboration with circulating nurses to ensure patient safety compliance Clean, process, and prepare instrumentation for terminal sterilization Maintain compliance with sterile technique, infection prevention standards, and surgical safety protocols Participate in ongoing professional development and surgical services quality initiatives Qualifications Required Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential Minimum 1-2 years of CVOR experience Current BLS certification or obtained within 30 days of hire Strong understanding of cardiovascular instrumentation and sterile surgical technique Preferred Open-heart surgery experience Thoracic surgical experience Experience within high-volume cardiovascular surgical programs Strong teamwork and surgical workflow management skills Compensation & Benefits Competitive CVOR compensation package Shift and on-call differentials $15,000 sign-on bonus Relocation assistance available Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage Paid Time Off (PTO) 401(k) with company match Tuition assistance and certification support Paid family leave eligibility Employee wellness and mental health resources Career advancement opportunities within cardiovascular surgical services Ideal For This role is ideal for experienced CVOR Surgical Technologists seeking advanced cardiovascular procedural exposure, open-heart surgery specialization, and long-term career growth within a high-acuity surgical services environment.
